Ok, I dont like the paint and body thread.

so down to the wire on my FJ40 frame off media blasting project.
So im in my Fj80 and see a 2016 Tacoma in Quick sand tan/gray old man gray. AKA Sahara sand.

LOVED IT its a winner. Im on the fence, Quick sand or Inferno orange.
I thought to go single stage to save cash, $3500 blasted, primed and painted single stage +/-$

Interesting choices in your poll--you must have asked folks for their opinions before.

Gotcha on the ice cream sampling.

I wonder if the "quicksand" color is similar to the Dune Beige used on the 1970's FJ40s?

I am a little biased..

Similar but a notch darker. How do I know this? Am asking myself the exact same question.

My lovely bride despises pale beiges like "Dune Beige" but Quicksand is just dark enough to slip over that spousal approval limit.

In my opinion the FJ40 looks best in a drab color that would look awful on anything else.
The new Toyota Quicksand would probably look great as long as your prep work gets the body straight enough to accept it. The high gloss will show every wave & dimple.
The color in the photo is terrible but here is 2014 Toyota Quicksand code 4V6 on the FJ Cruiser next to 416 Dune beige on my 40.
Toyota offered another color that was close, 2008-2010, Sandstorm 4U0 that was lighter and more yellow, also a nice color. I think my next FJ40 is going to be green, Fashion, Nebula or Breathe.

Funny, I'm in your boat- sorta. I'm planning on returning to factory color(dune beige), but the wife wants something brighter. I told her fj40's should be drab color, but she wants the color to "pop".

Right now I am wavering between a slightly darker sand/khaki/dune beige, or a Sage color similar to Breathe Green.

The way I see it, FJ40s belong in the outdoors, and need to be a color that will be in harmony with nature. I'm also going to use enamel, as it is softer in tone and has less depth than some of the modern paints.

120mm you think single stage Dune Beige will be better for a cheaper paint job *using a good paint* but low end week end painter at his house garage. My body is very good with only a rust pocket in the rear tail light! But Im going to go cheaper body man, blasting on frame off then primered then single stage paint! Saving money skipping clear coat. *I think* cant watch another youtube video on this topic.

Your color vote was exactly what I was considering too. Awesome picks. Ever since the 2016 TRD's have been driving around town, I've been thinking about it. Thanks Jay-

Paint completed? Love to see how it came out. Post up some pics if its done.

Not yet, I found a local guy who has done 150 classic cars last night. He only has a garage with visquene and a suction fan. Im going to see a few of his trucks he did and then get a deal done then blast.
