Thanks Rob, mine arrived in Fort St. John real quick like! Looks awsome and I gave my GF the extra one for her birthday cause I bought three and she has it up in her office already, open to February and keeps calling me Mr February, I don't know why The Aussi guy that works here had a flip through and was drooling over the pictures too said it reminded him of home and doing fieldwork in the bush, in Canada it's all about quads in the bush when your working, but in Austrailia he says you just drive the old Landcruisers where ever you need to go.

So, I have had some questions regarding where the pictures in the calendar were taken.

Here is a description thus far. Please let me know of any errors or omissions.

Front Cover: Whipsaw Trail

This is a very popular 4X4 trail in Southern B.C. just west of Princeton and extends to Coalmount. Most of the trail is high elevation >5000ft so it has a short window with no snow, but some folks go in the winter as well. . It has been written about in MUD many times as members of our club make the trip each year. You can do a search for ‘Whipsaw’ on our club page in MUD for lots of threads over the years.

January: China Head and Poison Mtn are in SW B.C. just west of Lytton in the area of the Fraser Canyon.

February: Tumbler Ridge, B.C. This trail is near Kinuseo Falls

March: Sunrise Lake

This is a popular short trail off the West Harrison forest service road. It has the one challenging feature ‘V Rock’ which is a popular place for wheelers to cut their teeth. It’s only about 2 hours east from Vancouver, located about 20km up the West Side of Harrison Lake. Hale creek written about on the 4WDABC trail is very close to this as well. This short 1 mile trail heads down to Harrison Lake from the West Harrison FSR at about the same location at the turnoff for Sunrise Lake.

April: These are from several locations, the FJ Cruiser on the Mackenzie trail, the HJ75 near Churn Creek as the UZJ100 is near Mud Lakes, which is west of China Head Mountain

May: Churn Creek.

This is a popular run for the May long weekend as it’s an area that first loses its snow in the interior and offers dry desert like camping and exploring at the beginning of the season. The camp spot for this run is on the Fraser River right near the Gang Ranch bridge about a two hour drive NW of Clinton B.C. along the Big Bar Lake Road. The group does out-and-back exploring over the weekend, how far they get depends on the snow levels.

June: The Mackenzie Trail is an historical trail used by Alexander Mackenzie to explore fur trading routes in Central B.C. The trail is very long, beginning near Quesnel B.C. heading west to almost as far as Anaheim Lake. Our club explored this trail three times over a few years, having to cut blow-down and avoid forest fires, which made for challenging and rewarding wheeling. This is a 7-10 day trip which will test anyone. Grab a beer before you read this tale; it’s a good one. The trail report is detailed here starting on page 10. August: Chilcotin Area. The two 40’s and the 75 are stuck in the same creek location on a Churn Creek trip a couple years back. The photo in the lower left of the Blue 40 and Brown 60 are from Bob Lake which is NE of Merritt, B.C.

September: Windy Ridge Trail

October: Cheam Thursten loop is in the Chilliwack River Valley about an hour’s drive from Chilliwack. The loop circumvents Mt. Mercer. I did this loop on October 18 this year. Calendar pics are from the trip last year and a few years before. It’s an annual club run, makes a great day trip. It’s a clock-wise loop starting at the Chilliwack Bench road, going up the west side of Mercer, then out to the view point and descending down the Chipmunk FSR.

November: Chehalis Lake is west of Harrison Lake and is accessed via the West Harrison FSR. There was a huge landslide on the western portion of Chehalis Lake a few years ago, the wave took out a couple of campsites and destroyed some of the southern access. Not sure how much if any has been restored.

December: Indian Arm: Accessed via Squamish, B.C. on the west coast. I’m not familiar with the access and it has changed from what I’ve heard in recent years but here is a thread on a trip there back in 2011.
