The rear bumper "swingouts" are a modular system. meaning: they can be swapped for blanks, tire carrier on either side, fuel can on either side, etc. If you were to remove the current setup, you'd replace that swingout for a blank side. This particular model of ARB bumper is made for accessorizing FYI
