...probably won't be offered that early because the Sp. Ed is supposedly still to come out around late summer early fall...so I don't know that they'd release a 2008 fj on the heels of that...also it is a limited vehicle so is anyone even sure there are going to be future models of the cruiser made>??
i really hope they keep them coming in the years to come, i can't afford to get mine yet, plus i was hoping they would come out with another color or two to choose from... so far i pic silver, i would pic blue but i like to sneak around sometimes, and the blue i liked at first would sick out too much i think...
The special edition/limited is coming out at the end of this summer (2006), so releasing the 2008 in the fall of 2007 won't interfer with that.MudBludd said:

I would imagine the hardware package will probably be ~$3,995, and the special colors will be a few hundred bucks extra, and the colored roof will be a few hundred more as well.
But that's all speculation on my part.
It looks like the TRD supercharger will not be offered as part of the package, it'll be a separate aftermarket add. Dammit!

Where, specifically, have you seen any mention from Toyota about special edition options? Seriously, what's the source? I have several friends within Toyota, and they've heard nothing (TMM and NUMMI).
I wouldn't mind seeing a shorty, either. Looking at the new Wrangler's 95" wheelbase, I'm wondering what Toyota would do different if they had 10" less metal between the wheels. Would we get a removable top? Power windows & door locks? Would they keep the width? Would we lose the rear doors? Would the rear seats get pushed back?TEPUI said:

You guys are true dorks. It was done for the gentlemen in the thread that requsted it. It was most definately not done for a Rubicon owner or someone who is not bright enough to tell the difference between a Jeep Liberty and an FJ Cruiser. You should both just put on your speedos and ride around in your jeeps.
