So I've been trying to fix my brothers Matrix. The windshield washer pump does not work. I found that both pumps for front and rear washers were junk. So I replaced them and they still don't work. All the fuses looked good. I'm getting power to the motors when one is connected and vice versa but when both are connected I don't get power. I seems one has to be connected and one disconnected to see power at the one that is disconnected. If that makes sense. I just don't know why they are not working. Figuring this out might be beyond me. Frustrating. Can anyone help?

Are you possibly hooking up one of the motors backwards? Have you tested both sides of your connection to ensure you are losing ground or +12 when the pump does not work? They should run off the same fuse, with a different relay controlling them.

No I wasn't hooking them up backwards. I get know power when both are hooked up. You would think if I disconnect one the other would run.

Has your windshield washer pump worked back?
