2006 lexus lx 470 antenna problem question (1 Viewer)

Current antenna will only come up about 3 to 4 inches and then quit. I tried replacing the antenna mast but it will not budge. Yes I have replaced them before on my 95 cruiser. Any idea what is going on and how to make the fix ???

Unbolt the cap and press up on the interior button, will that eject the plastic cable? If it will, see if the cable is broken, you may have pieces down in the motor assembly you need to open up and pull out.

By pressing up do you mean cutting the radio on and off to raise and lower the mast??? If so I have done this and it will not eject the cable. It stop about 3-4 inches up and you can pull on it as hard as you can and it will not budge.

Pull the antenna motor and find the surprises inside of it

By pressing up I mean pressing up on the antenna mast button. You also have to unthread the top cap on the antenna mast.

I have don all that and it still stops at 3 to 4 inches. No amount of pulling or tugging has made it come out. And this is with the cap removed

Thanks, definitely will try this. Before, once the radio was turned on the antenna would go all the way to the top.
