2006 LC nav display how to set to night mode (1 Viewer)

im sure its buried somewhere in the manual but does anyone know how to get the nav/map display to go dark at night?
it's always bright white and i've not been successful in fiddling with all the settings to turn it black or at least darker.
thx for any help!

IIRC it takes direction from the main dimmer switch. At max brightness, the nav never goes dark. One click in whatever direction dims the instrument lights should work.
