Look for some pricing guidance here from those that are tuned into FMV for 100 series. I pulled the trigger on a 2017 200 in December and have been grappling with selling my 2006, which I've had since 2010 (or 78k miles). I had planed to drive it, forever, but really don't have space to keep it. As I was prepping it for sale, it occurred to me that my father has ALWAYS wanted a Land Cruiser (all I have ever owned the last 25 years), and given that he is in his early 70's, I am now heavily leaning toward gifting it to him - or selling the 100 and helping him buy a 2013-2015 (120k miles +/-) with the sale proceeds. List prices are all over the map for both, as far as I can tell.

Any thoughts / guidance on what the buy / sell would look like for my 100 for a well maintained stock 200? i.e. 100 sale price vs 200 purchase price

I've include what I had planned to post here in my For Sale listing to help those that can help with estimated FMV.

Thanks in advance. You guys will be the first to know if I decide to sell :)

2006 LC, Black w Tan, AHC, 201,500 miles - Clean, and well maintained
On the heels of finally pulling the trigger on a 2017 200 series, and no immediate plan to build this one out - or otherwise use it - it deserves to be in someone else's garage.
I am the second owner, purchased at ~78k miles. Love this vehicle, and if I had the time, I would drive it to Tierra del fuego tomorrow as is. No meaningful dings or dents, though it has a handful superficial scratches you might expect of a vehicle this age, like most.
Highlights
- Bone stock except for almost new Toyo AT2 275/70/18 tires + WeatherTech
- Been a SoCal and Austin, TX truck since first sale.
- Extensive service records, almost all Toyota, though I also have a go-to indie shop that has worked on cruisers for years.
- Timing belt, tensioner, pulleys, etc. + new OE radiator and alternator done at 180k, and 90k for initial TB, ten, pulleys, etc.
- OEM CV boots and steering rack done at 164k and 176k, respectively
- Never been wheeled, though it has made any trips to CO and seen a few trails in the San Juans. Mostly a family car and occasional weekend camping rig.
- Mechanically, there are no deferred maintenance items to speak of, so she is ready to do the next 100k miles with nothing other than normal service.
- Records below, back to the time I purchased at ~78k miles. Also attached is full service record from Toyota, which shows service back to original purchase.
Notable Disclosures
Body is in great shape, with no material dings or dents. As you might expect of a 200k mile, 14 year old LC, it has a few very minor surface scratches and blemishes from normal use.
Small hole in front passenger side seat - planning on getting fixed prior to sale.
Hood shocks are worn and need to be replaced (though easy enough to prop the hood open)
Two of the OEM roof rack caps are missing

@ATXcrusier Gift it! My dad oogles over my land cruiser every time he comes over and he's 75. I figure I would if I could find a good deal on a built 200 series or a built diesel 80! Good Luck with your decision

Gift it without a doubt. He'll love it.

Thanks guys, definitely going to gift him a Cruiser - just debating whether to give him this 100 or sell it and gift him the cash to get him a 2012-2015 200 series - I just don't have a handle on those 200s. I have loved my 100, but am fast falling in love with my 2017 200!

Realistically you're looking at around $13-$14k in the SE market. CA may be a little different. Yours seems to be well maintained but not as clean of an undercarriage as I would expect living in TX and CA. Where was it before then?

I recently spent 6 months searching for the right LC100 and based on what I've learned I would say for a clean 06 with 200k you could get close to 17k. (SE) I know several people who have had interest in mine in that neighborhood since I bought it... Mine is a 04.

As was already mentioned, CA probably has slightly different market conditions

Also, if it were me, (my 2 cents) I would gift it... 100+200 > 200+200 IMO

@Lazarus556 thanks for the reply. it has always been a CA and TX truck. The Toyo Owners service records show all service in CA prior to my owning it. Some of the orange-ish underside is mud film as it saw a fair bit of rain and mud on some fire roads in CO recently.

@skyblue thanks for your insight. Yes, I'll most likely be gifting it...aside from the actual gift benefit to my father, I get to selfishly keep the 100 in the family!

I sold a black on tan 2006 with 213k that was actually kinda rough inside for 14,500 in the SE a couple months ago. But rust-free and NO AHC so that raises the price some. It also had an OME lift and ARB/Warn on the front so that raises it up too. Now that I think about it, I probably sold it too cheap! But it went to a relative. Your interior is cleaner, I would say yours is worth at least 15k because clean interiors go a long way. But thats in a normal market, who knows right now. Cant get a 200 for that price. Id definitely give it to your dad!

@89cruiserfj62, thanks, helpful intel. Looking for transport options now - sending it to my father. He's pumped up about it!
