Hi everyone,

Hope all is well.

2004 LX 470 with 210k miles.

Exhaust system is making a horribly loud booming / rumbling sound.

Certainly loud enough to wake neighbors up.

Something must’ve rusted through / there must be a hole in the system somewhere.

What does everyone recommend replacing the exhaust system with?

Any good suggestions? Borla or something else?

Would an OEM system from Toyota be sufficient as well? From say a 2004-2007 Land Cruiser; or is something different about that??? :(

And based upon the description above, might this simply be cat back, or something more extensive?

My best,

Jared

I would look over the exhaust system to see if you can pinpoint the location on the issue if possible. Could be any number of things causing it.

You can search the forum for feedback on exhaust systems, including Borla and OEM. I replaced my failing OEM muffler with a brand new OEM muffler and hardware from www.partsouq.com.

Lots of exhaust related threads.

Thanks for everyone's help.

Flex pipe from left catalytic converter was cracked. Picture attached.

Indy charged $700 for oil and filter change, flex pipe replacement, rear pads and rotors and brake fluid flush.

Have a feeling they didn't do the brake fluid flush though, as they didn't want to do same upon prior request of mine.

Truck is quiet again now though.

Any way to confirm that brake fluid has in fact been flushed / changed

Thanks.

Should've probably look at what was there prior. Argh.
