hi there guys, first let me say ia am a long time lurker , there is amazing wisdom on these forums. second i know the lc isnt perfect, but i love mine, about to buy another car for better mpg and to run the kids to soccer, and of course grocery shopping..... i reallly like doing the shopping then i get what i like to eat.....

anyway this is going to be a long post, well maybe not as i have seen some dozies on here... First off my suspension is shot, its not bad its shot. 2004 lc pretty stock, with 138k miles probably never changed, thing floats like a boat on the open seas.... going 70 on the highway is scary. when i am going slow - say 25 mph and rpm are between 1000 - 1400 i get this shake that seems to be in the front end , is this due to suspension? it really seems to just shake the whole front end. Further more, when going 70 the whole truck shakes when hitting bumps as well as loud clanking in the front end.... thing is a very heavy unsafe boat right now. i want to rebase the suspension, i would really be appreciative of any one that can give me guidance/help .... these are the parts i am planning on replacing:

if there is anything else i should do while i am in there i would love to know , also if some part is unneccessary please let me know.... also i am in nj if anyof you are too we should meet up. peace and thanks for all and any guidance.

You might just try the stabilizer bar bushings and end links, and tie rod ends. See where you're at in terms of performance. If the shocks are shot, just get the 35 dollar OEM kits and do all 4. Have you looked at your boots on the ball joints on the UCA and LCA? If they're shot- ripped, dirty, etc then you can do those as well (~400 in aftermarket parts if you decide to not go OEM, good quality parts can be used instead by 555 or Moog, or others- but use RUBBER instead of POLY (mine cracked in just over a year). Point is, sure you could hit EVERYTHING in there but try the primary components FIRST and just buy them and do the work as needed. UNLESS money is no object.

ok i hear waht your saying...... but what should my baseline retrofit even be? where do i start?

ok cool i get what you are saying< i will do base line then see how things are performing. so hve you ever heard of the 1000 - 1500 slow speed rattle when accelerating at at that rpm, seems like it could be suspension related

First start with inspecting the front end. Wheel bearings, steering rack, ball joint. How the stance, need some rake (drop in front).
Tire condition, pressure, balance. How's stability in the turns.
These are very common areas that need attention. Follow the owners Maintenance Guide, see what Toyota says.

Scarp the parts list. Start over. With 138K miles. Unless you're in the rust belt. This is not a shot suspension.

Here's one to get you start with, no tools needed.

Here what you want
