Both foam surrounds looked fine. No cracks or tears, even by touching there’s no disintegration. Noticed a hole on front one. Rear one is having no visible damage yet it sound worse. Rear doesn’t have integrated tweeter as I was expecting. They say it is a full range speaker, I’m not sure how. Now back to out of ideas about sound improving. I wish I had dry rotted Mark Levinsons , at least could refoam it🙁.
As you gently push the speaker cone inward do you hear/fell rubbing? That'll sure do it. If they sound as bad as you say, I'd replace the cone edge suspension while ensuring that there's no rubbing in the voice coil at the magnet.

No rubbing. Edge surround foam seem ok. No tears. Solid and soft on touching. I tried pushing them in out. It goes without rubbing. I guess they became weak. Sound bad means, no cracking or popping sound, just low volume and no bass. Especially rear ones. Front even with a hole, sounds better. I think no point in tinkering with it anymore. Will try 4ohm 5.25” replacements. The Amp was dead 3 years back. I replaced it with a similar amp but not exactly the same one. Factory amp had 3.2ohm for all three channels(3.2front,3.2 rear, 3.2 woofer). The one I replaced with is 4ohm for front and rear 2 ohm for woofer. Not sure what was the donor vehicle. Connectors were same. That can be a factor.
