Fellow Mudders-

My customer has a 2003 Birken with a Hilux rear axle. Is the Ring and Pinion the same as the Tacoma?? He wants to install a limited slip.

Attached are pics of the axle housing.

Thanks

Seth

This axles does not looks like a Hi Lux rear that I usually see here .. the Hi Lux rear end that I see here are 8" center like a toy axle .. but 8" course.

In the new model ( 2006 ) it comes with new ( brazilian or Argentinan ) model ..

Hey PVcruiser, the minitruck section on here might be more helpful.

If you don't get hits on this section I will slide it over there. :)

Hey that sounds great to me... I was in the late model pickup section for a couple days, but couldn't get any help there...

Thanks.

X2. That does not look like a Hilux axle at all. The Hilux axles I know are just like the axles found on 86-95 US minipickups.

Although the Tacoma is also a Toy 8, I think the Tacoma R&P have different rotation and the pinion is bigger. (not 100% sure, though)
