My wife came home with severe stick bug. The truck's a$$ is sky high and operating the auto leveling system doesn't have any effect on the height.

The strange thing is that if you put it to LO you can here a rush of air for a minute or so the blinking light turns solid but nothing has changed. Then selecting N and the compressor turns on but still nothing happens.

I'm not sure how this system works as the FSM completely blows on diagnosing this system. The truck also has some elaborate shock system and I'm not sure if that is the real problem or not.

Just hate to lay out big money to the dealer if I can work this out.

Thanks for any help

try contacting Bulldog - he's away for the weekend but knows alot, or post to toyota120.com

i'm pretty sure it's the same system as on the GX470 so you might want to search that out as well

Thanks for the help. Right now I'm going to try and search on TIS and see if there is better info out there since the 2003 was the first year for this thing and the FSM is skimpy. I might try and get the rear of the truck down and then disable the circuit by pulling a fuse so it's drivable.

Do you know what suspension you have(name) A quick search on yotatech didn't yield much, but I don't know what xreas is.....

LT,
I remember Christo messed with the LX470's rear air susp- that might help w/ similar info
again, the GX470's rear air susp is, i believe, identical to yours.
There is a GX470 owner on clublexus that offroads- he tricked out the rear air sensor to stay high so maybe search on that forum as well.

KliersLC,
XREAS is a cross-connected shock system, not related to the rear air susp that LT has.

incidentally, the same company developed XREAS and KDSS (KDSS is the disconnecting swaybar system used on the GX470 SE and 08 LC)

I got on TIS and got more info. It's a pretty simple system and my initial thoughts are bad height sensors that inform the ECU that the truck is in the low position all the time. Only problem with that idea is I would expect a code if it never saw the sensors showing a normal position.

I'm digging deeper on Sunday, until then it's study study study.

with all the other car maintenance I had to do I just cheated the system for now. I pulled the air lines to the bags and let the truck down on the axles. I then reattached the lines and started the truck. It began filling the bags with air and when it got to a good height I turned off the truck and pulled the 50amp fuse for the air suspension. The wife is seeing a blinking off light for that system but it drives fine. Hopefully this weekend I can get in there and figure out what's wrong.

Thanks for your replies.
