Have driven both. The 07 LC with near 300k miles feels a lot newer than 02 LX with 150k miles, both in terms of drivetrain and interior. 03+ also have side airbags.

Makes a difference esp. for longer road trips. But if you plan to do hardcore offroading, it wouldn't matter.
