2001 4runner transmission

I have a 2001 4runner and the tranny went bad so i was wondering if I can use the tranny from a tacoma.

The 4runner is a 4x4 and the tranny code is A340f, and if i'm correct the tacoma is A340E so would it work.

A340E was from a 2 wheel drive.
A340F is 4 wheel drive.

If the Taco was 4 wheel drive, the transmission should swap right over.

cool, gonna go looking for an a340f and maybe a motor..
