Teenagers need cars and it’s time to sell my 2000 LX 470. I’ll start here this weekend as I have learned a lot on this forum and then go wider next week.
2000 Lexus LX470, 202,941 miles, Located: Houston, Texas. Price $14,000.
I am the second owner of this vehicle. I purchased it in 2016 with 173,000 from the first owner in Austin. This car has been in Texas its entire life, other than 2009-2010 when it was in Memphis (same owner). All maintenance by the original owner was done at the Lexus dealer, and the complete history is available. Original owner said that that the right front fender was dented in 2009, but other than that, no major accidents.
I have had the car serviced at Clear Choice Independent Lexus Specialists here in Houston. They have done all the work on the car except for the serpentine belt/fan pulleys which went out on me in 2018 in my driveway. With no belt, it was easier to go to the shop (Brazelton Auto) which is 300 yards from my house rather than to pay for a tow.
I bought this car as a weekend car. Vehicle has not been off road since I’ve owned it and it has been garaged for the last 5 years. It’s pretty much stock, other than a few upgrades noted below.
Maintenance/Upgrade Highlights
Michelin Tires have ~25,000 for 2 and ~30,000 for the other 2, which were replaced right before I bought it.
Replaced the Radio with Pioneer AVIC-8200NEX, which has Bluetooth, back-up camera, Apple Car Play, and Android auto.
The timing belt was replaced at 182,000 miles. Numerous other maintenance items have been completed. The car has a new battery and I just had the drive-shaft greased and the oil changed.
I had my mechanic check the AHC system this week and it is working fine.
Interior on this car is a solid 9 out of 10. Car has a new Roadwire Interior, both front and back seats, installed in 3/19. The rest of the interior, including the headliner and Carpet are very clean. The car has Lexus all-weather mats in the Front and back seats. I still have the 3rd Row seats, which match the new interior perfectly.
The paint / body is a 7ish out of 10. It has some parking lot hickeys/door dings and at some point the previous owner parked it under a tree, as there are sap marks on the hood. It looks great in the pictures, but if you get up close in-person to the hood, you will see what I’m talking about. I took some closer pictures, but it’s subtle enough that you will not see it unless you zoom-in.
As this car has been in Texas most of it’s life, it is truly a ‘rust-free’ vehicle. Picts are included and you can be the judge.
I have both original keys (replaced the cases, however), original manuals, and even the original window sticker. Clean title in hand.
