2 sensors in head 1973 FJ40 (1 Viewer)

Hi Im installing a Holley Sniper 2300 and I noticed I have 2 sensors in my head
One has a black wire and the other has a yellow with green tracer.
Does anyone know what both are for?

Not sure on the 73, but my 76 had two temp sensors - one for the dash, and one for emissions. I desmogged with the Sniper, so the Sniper coolant sensor went in the old emissions slot, albeit with an adapter.

One is temp sender for the gauge cluster, the other one a temp sender for the emissions system, computer.

i have BOTH the guage sender and the THERMO Sender NOS , and new connectors come with them too
