Just like many FJ62 owners my 4x4 high engages but I need to switch the vacuum lines to the 4x4 solenoid to get it to disengage. The PO (a mechanic with his own business in Texas) said that the solenoid was bad and he would get me a good used one. After 2 months the part arrives for cruiserparts.net. 2 min job to install it and guess what? Same as before – goes into 4x4 but I need to switch the vac lines to get it to disengage. Per the FSM I did the air tests on both solenoids and they are good. I don’t have an ohmmeter so I have not done those tests.
What are your thoughts? 2 bad solenoids or another problem?
