Hi All, got an '01 Tundra SR5 Access Cab V8 with 4x4 and ABS that's seen better days. The frame is literally brand new, but the rear axle is extremely corroded.

I'm looking for a good axle down south, but a lot of the Tundra's I come across are the 4x2 rwd variety.
Would that 4x2 rear axle swap right into mine?

I don't mid a little bit of modification, but I'm also not trying to undergo major surgery for a car that's mostly used for ski trips to VT. Only 165k on it and its runs like a beast otherwise.

Thanks!

I’d be shocked if the rear axles were any different between 2wd and 4wd Access Cabs with the possible exception of the diff. They could be different gearing, but you could swap yours if it is indeed different... if you’ve not done that before, it’s not terribly difficult. I would think that you could consult a parts diagram from an online parts retailer and get confirmation.
