Gday, My 80 series threw the #1 conrod big end . The odometer says 380000 klm. Iv'e had the car for quite a while without driving it and finally registered it drove up a hill and it started to get hot and then it started to knock . On pulling it down every thing looks fine apart from #1,2,and three big ends which are like alfoil. # 1 being the worst. The oil level was fine and radiator full. No damage to pistons or bores and the cam bearing are fine. Ive read that the 1HD T big ends are prone to failure. Is it the same case with 1HZ's?
