Anyone have suggestions on where to get a shim kit for valve adjustment on a 1HDT? I just had the head rebuilt and know that my clearances will all be out of spec.

Cheers,
Peter

There is no kit per se. You need to check the clearances and then order up the necessary replacement shims to bring the clearances into spec. An SST is required to get the shims out. Call Ciaran Wilson 604-514-3716 or Rob Millson 604-837-8370. Both have the SST and Greg and I have a box full of shims that might save having to order up and go in there a second time.

Thanks. I know on Volvos that I've done w/ a similar setup, you can "rent" a shim kit and pay for what you use, putting the old shims back in the kit upon return. I'll measure up and see what you have. The engine is on a stand and so I'm thinking I can probably just remove the cam for the shim replacement w/o the SST.
Can shims be ordered from Toyota? I suppose ENS would be able to get them.

Cheers and thanks again,
Peter

Ya, Ens stocks the shims. I guess you could do it by removing the cam if time isn't of any concern.
