For those of you who have rebuilt a 1HDT what did you use between the block and one piece main bearing cap? The manual recommends part #08826-00080 (seal packing or FIPG) which appears to be discontinued.

So it turns out that the discontinued part number has been superseded by part #00295-00103. Readily available through local Toyota dealership. Same stuff used on the oil pan ect....
 
Hate to resurrect an old thread; however, what main bearings and thrust were sourced for your rebuild? I am looking Taiho however, I don’t see a part number listed for the main bearings or the thrust (shims or is it bearings?). They only list BEB set number P709…

My rebuild kit was through Engines Australia. They use both Taiho and ACL bearings. If memory serves me everything was Taiho execpt the mains were ACL?? I do have these two pics on my phone. Maybe you can see the part numbers on a bigger screen?

Just get in contact with Engine Australia, they will be extremely helpful and will advise you!
