Hello,

With such a crazy busy forum I wouldn't be thinking of taking the LC plunge, thanks.

Planning to self import a HZJ77 from Japan, and so many other questions have been answered here thanks to the search button, but what is too much mileage for the 1HD?

Quite leary of low KM cruisers that has low mileage at the auctions; even my mechanic saw 2 JDM cruisers last year with definite odometer rollback. And some are priced a bit too good. The one pictured below, a 1992 with a newer style grill (?), has 179,000 km.

Thanks!

Both our BJ70 and HZJ77 came into canada with around 125,000km on them. Since importing we've put over 30,000 trouble free km on each rig. A few of the claimed 40,000km units are probably genuine but I call bull**** on the majority. We've also got an '87 HJ60 with 430,000km on it. If the HJ is any indication, I expect both of the newer trucks to go and go for years to come. IMO 179,000 km on a well maintained 1hz is not high at all. The 77's are rare...if the deal is right and the truck is tight I say go for it.

Thank you. It's not the cheapest on the block, but the FOB is crazy for a truck I have such a :censor: for. Your right, the 30,000-50,000km trucks set of alarm bells for me.

Are 4 door, 92-93, 70 series rare?

I will try hard to not go nuts and end up with more then one cruiser, it seems like a common problem going around.

A 180000 klms is nothing for a 1 HZD T diesel if it has had regular servicing. A friend has one with 500000 klms and because of his regular servicing ,it runs like new still

The 4 door 76 and 77 series are sold mainly in Japan so they are not in big numbers outside of there.
Overall ,all the 7* series are a low volume vehicle by world standards and I cant think of any country that got all the models at the same time.

The pic at the top has a 98- grill. In 95 the "TOYOTA" was replaced with the cows head symbol and in 98 they reintroduced the chrome grill on the optioned up models.

I saw HZJ-73 for sale with oryginal 2350000 km (Yes more than two millions:eek:) and this car runs good.
In Africa I've drive :steer: HZJ-105 (2001 model) with 520 t.km. This mileage was done in off-road only (100 t.km per year) with full load and car runs great.
