Im not a mechanic so forgive me if im asking a dumb question here, but the HDJ81 diagrams i've been studying show my truck having both a drive plate (flexplate) and a flywheel (its an automatic: HDJ810009297).

Flywheel: 1345117020
Drive plate (flexplate): 3210160040

I always thought autos had the flexplate, manuals the flywheel. We haven't cracked the truck open yet, but we're nearly positive the flexplate is the problem, though im beginning to wonder if perhaps the flywheel might also be a culprit here? Am I missing something or are the diagrams im using on Partsouq misleading? Does the flywheel go bad on these engines often? Would it show itself in a similar manner as a failed flexplate?

I can't afford to keep the truck on the rack for an extended period of time so I need to buy parts upfront. I really don't want to drop $500 on a flywheel if A) I probably wont need it and B) my truck doesn't even have one...

It's one or the other, per above.

Thats the drive plate that an auto has
