Looking for a good used head for a 1F engine out of a 1974 FJ-40. I'm currently having it rebuilt but my machinist says the existing head is leaking. Any leads in the greater mid-Atlantic states would be greatly appreciated as well.

I saw you responded to my post with a head. Is your 74 an F or an “F.5”? If it’s the newer F.5, my heads will not work.

Oil filter on left side or right side?

It's on the right, what does that make it?

I believe that’s an F.5, meaning neither of my heads will work.

If you can give a needed casting number i can check what I have. logistics might be better too that I'm in Michigan.

What is the casting number?
Do you know where I can find a chart that gives the dates for different casting numbers? Amayama only has part numbers listed for loaded headed and nothing for just the head itself. Would made it easier than having find the date code which is not as easy.

Pretty sure I have a head with that casting # if you still need one.

I have a 60051 that’s ready to go. New valves and seals. Head thickness - 94.51mm. could crate it up like the one pictured. PM me if interested.

I found this after doing a quick search on the forums.

Not the entire answer, but a start.

Just want to say thanks to fjc-man for saving the day! The head looks amazing and the transaction went very smoothly with great communication. Would do business again in a heartbeat! Thanks again!!
