Any recommendations for a newbie would be greatly appreciated!!! Trying to get OME suspension installed

If you can, there are a few... Not sure if Mark's Offroad does that kind of stuff but a great cruiser resource. If you can travel, Valley Hybrid in Stockton.

Thanks for that... Mark's is great, but they won't do work on anything after 1987. Will check out Valley Hybrid...if nothing else, maybe they have some advice too.

Westside Brake and Tires in Culver City are really good. It's a family owned business and they are the most honest mechanics I've ever been to. Pedro, the father, has owned many LC models. If they've ever screwed up on something, when I take it back they fix it, give me my keys and there is no charge. Not very common nowadays.

Try RPM Offroad Garage in Monrovia. Steve's shop works on a lot of Hundy's.
RPM is now my go to shop. They just installed an Ironman lift kit, and did some maintenance items on my 2000 LC just a few weeks ago... great shop... plus you can get some inspiration by checking out all the customer and shop staff rigs inside and outside of the shop! :) If you need another one closer to LA or the Valley area I also have used another great Toyota shop named Toymasters Auto Clinic, they are in Studio City...

Thanks for both of those. Few people have recommended RPM, but I cant get them to answer the phone/respond to an email. Hoping to hear from them soon. If not, I'll check out toymasters. How do you like the ironman? what setup did you go with?

RPM is very busy, they seem to get a lot of referrals and have many 100s always in line receiving upgrades and maintenance. Just keep calling and schedule an appointment which usually are a little far out and may take them a bit longer to finish. It's the additonal price to pay knowing it's going to a specialist who are very familiar with the truck and the owner even have a hundy himself.

Yeah, that is one of the drawbacks for dealing with a busy shop that doesn't have a front receptionist. Thursdays and Friday's are slammed as they try to get as many jobs completed before the close for the weekend. As far as I can tell, they don't respond to email at all... Just call back first thing in the morning on Monday or Tuesday and ask for Steve (the owner). Or better yet, drive over there and visit them in person if you are located close to Monrovia. They are worth the wait if you have time. What city are you in?

Pickup up one of the older Ironman 2" Nitro Lift Kits back during one of the big sales they were having (performance load which gives you about 440lb above stock). I think the closest thing to it that they offer on their site now is the Nitro 2 Stage kit. I think I paid around $750 for it at the time which included free shipping! Also had a diff drop and some rated recover points added in as well. The ride is amazing so far... and handles like a dream both on and off road compared to the OEM setup!

Try messaging him on Instagram if you use that app.

Why not just swing by their shop and talk to them (RPM). The company I’m at is similar, too busy to pick up every phone call but if you stop by I’ll take my time and chat with you.

It’s just a basic lift kit, you don’t need a specialty Toyota shop to do get that done. If it’s maintenance/baseline/unknown trouble repair then I get it.
