It breaks my heart to do this but I have to sell my tank, it's the only car I've ever owned, I'm the second owner and have had it since I was 16 years old which was almost 13 years ago, it was coming off a lease when we bought it. I can do basic maintenance but I'm not a gear head and the one guy I trusted to work on her moved out of state about a year ago. I don't have to explain how hard it is to find someone who is knowledgeable about our trucks and it's been a big problem for me lately because I'm a perfectionist when it comes to my LX. It runs smooth as silk but I can't just run it into the ground, whenever there is a small problem I have to get it taken care of ASAP and I just can't afford the time and money anymore, a 17 year old vehicle requires more time and effort than a new one obviously. That along with my job requiring me to drive a lot it just doesn't make sense anymore for me to own it, I can't afford to have a toy right now and really thats what my truck is, I could never treat like it was a beater. I baby the hell out of it, I've never off roaded it or modded it, other than the damage multiplier which I put on a couple years go it's BONE STOCK. At one point I was buying and selling cars and always meant to replace it but when it came down to it no vehicle could compare and I always kept her. When it's time to go somewhere everyone looks to my truck and when the weather is bad everyone looks to my truck, I always know it will get me home.

I REALLY REALLY would like it go to a mud member, that way at least I know it will be treated right either as a pavement tank or given a new life as a off road tank.

In my opinion very few 17 year old cars which haven't been professional restored are as in good of shape as my LX. Other than normal wear and tear it is in INCREDIBLE SHAPE, it runs and drives better than most new cars!

1997 LX450

Second Owner, owned since 2000. Purchased off lease with 25,226 miles.

The good:

-OIL CHANGED AND FULLY LUBED EVERY 3000 MILES WITHOUT EXCEPTION, EVERY GREASE AND OIL POINT HIT!

-Fully Loaded as they all are
-RUNS SMOOTH AS SILK!
-Hankook Dynapro 265/75 with around 15k on them (GREAT TIRES)
-New Battery a few months ago
-Damage multiplier comes with car, I have the rears as well, was going to bomb them but no point now.
-Don't think I really need to talk it up much......

The bad:

-The paint is worn but not especially bad for a 17 year old car, the worst is the hood because I parked it under a huge tree for a long time and was too much of an idiot to realize how stupid that was until it was too late. A good detailing will make it a moot point.
-It's about time for some new brake pads
-Rear wiper doesn't work, motor runs it just doesn't move.
-Antenna doesn't go up, I disconnected it a long time ago
-A/C needs to be filled every summer, I usually just buy a $15 can and do it myself.
-BIG rock chip in bottom center of windshield, been there for about 10 years.
-Check engine light is on due to O2 sensor, I can pull the codes for you.
-Leather on front driver seat finally ripped a couple months ago (SEE PIC).
-Been in one accident, some jackass ran a flashing red and hit my front, it was all cosmetic nothing crazy, this was 8 years ago.
-Airbag light is on for some reason, even though the airbag never deployed. It's been on for about 10 years.
-It has one ding on the rear passenger side door, it looks like a shopping cart hit it a long time ago, it's like two quarters next to each other and not bad at all.
-I changed all the belts a few months ago but one needs to be adjusted, it squeels at startup sometimes for a second when it's cold.
-It has an exhaust leak somewhere, nothing crazy, loud or bad but I can tell because I know the sounds it makes
-The only other thing I can think of is that perhaps the front u-joints need to be replaced. I replaced them a few years ago but I didn't get to buy them myself and I think they used cheapo ones. I felt it a few times in the past month or so.
-I have the carfax and can pull up the codes for you in person.

This is all obviously small stuff anybody with mechanical knowledge could easily fix but I can't, this is the main reason I have it for sale. I don't trust anyone to work on her who doesn't have expierence, my one guy recently moved out of state and employing 4x4 specialists is really pricey and adds up quick for a 17 year old car, even all this little BS stuff. Like I keep saying I wish I could work on it myself, if I could I would never sell it.

Like I said I REALLY REALLY would like a mud member to own it, I'm not going to list it for sale anywhere else. I'm asking $8500, please no low balls. I would rather give it to a relative to drive for another 15 years than give it away cheap. Even now I'm kinda thinking I should dump $500 into it, fix the small problems, lift it and make it a real tank but it would be really irresponsible of me to leave the money sitting in the driveway so of course it's for sale.

If you have any specific questions or picture requests please ask in the thread so that I can provide the info to everyone. In regards to the sale please PM me.

Sorry about the indoor pics, it's been raining the past few days and my camera is crappy.

:crybaby:

I should also probably add that I didn't really detail it or super clean it up, I didn't feel the need to here on mud. It will clean up a lot better if that's what you're looking for.....

Still available, looks like I'm going to have to list it on CL and autotrader. If it doesn't sell I'm going to keep it for another decade or so.

Price reduced to $8,000, looks like I'm going to have to list it on CL and Autotrader unfortunately....

No lockers, please let me know what you would like pictured specifically on the underside.....

I think you should be irresponsible and keep it. It seems as she has been a big part of your life and youll regret selling her. Unless you are really hard up for the cash... Keep her, lift her and have another 15 yrs of fun memories with her! Just my opinion. Ive sold a 40 and a 60 and had regrets.

So what am I supposed to do just leave it sitting there and drive it only in snow storms? I know I'll regret it but it needs to be driven daily, or at least used as a toy and it needs to be owned by someone who knows how to work on it. It doesn't seem right to let a special vehicle just sitting collecting dust, I feel like I would be doing it an injustice. This is why I really want a mud member to end up with it, I don't want it sitting in my driveway or giving to a family member to drive into the ground.

Here are some pics of the underside, please let me know if you need any others. Looks like some surface rust on the outlying pieces but it looks pretty clean under there!

Price reduced to $7500 for mud members, last bump before it goes on Autotrader or gets traded to the local dealer for a GX460!

Dropped it off at 4x4 Diversified in Toledo, it's going to be a new truck pretty soon and may be off the market.....
