Did you burn that turd 40 or finish it?

It’s been with the owner since he was 16. Not sure how many years that is, guessing over 20. Ya know how they are when they been with the same person this long, there is a certain amount of sentimental value.

We did our best but it does need more to be of your standards. It’s really fun to drive though!

Cheers

So I only live a block and a half from my shop.

I went home about six, grabbed dinner, a shower and a shave. Came back down with a cold beer to try and cool the shop off for tomorrow, still over 90* in here at nearly 10pm.

It’s a real pretty Cruiser and John has got a keeper in my opinion with this one.

I don’t like this kind of stuff though, ya I am particular. We only use shrink wrap connections in my shop and even go as far as to put more shrink wrap on top of them. Overkill? Probably!

Tomorrow, start tearing out the interior.

Oh ya, we got a new OEM windshield with OEM gasket for the truck from Toyota last week. That will be going in when the time is right.

Cheers

@SNLC feel free to rewire that stuff. We don’t need problems.

The green wire appears to be part of a factory trailer harness kit. Will take a closer look tomorrow.

Battery, ya shrink wrap connections or nothing!

Cheers

Slight change of plans. I have this LRA main tank replacement. But.....it will not work with my Cruisin Off-Road belly skid plate. That presents me with a decision between the tank and the skid plate and I just don’t think I necessarily need that much fuel storage. At least as the main tank.

The new plan will be to pull the LRA tank and go back with an OEM setup with possibly an OEM aux tank. That should work nicely with the Cruisin skid plates.

Stay tuned in the classifieds for a basically brand new LRA 39 gallons main tank.

Does it hang down lower than stock?

Damn sure hangs down a ton. Wow.
@wngrog yea I did not get up under the truck before it left for Idaho. And it was not brought to my attention. I think it would be great for someone who does some extended travel. Would really be great upgrade for a gas burner 80 series as it would extend the range considerably but not too excessive. This truck should get 20 plus MPG so I think we will be just fine the with stock setup + OEM aux tank.

Australia to Idaho to Florida and now back to Idaho. 😂

In my opinion this catch can is the best on the market. It’s the goods for sure.

Anyone got any good speaker recommendations? I have not really found a nice, recent thread. I believe this truck has some of the slim Pioneer speakers already installed. But since we are starting over on the wiring I thought I would go ahead and upgrade the speakers. This truck has some really nice factory speaker grills. I don’t necessary need to keep them but I also don’t want to replace them with something crappy looking.

Also debating whether I will replace the factory rear quarter panel speaker with some type of sub/amp combo on the Wits End rear QPM. We will probably be stashing some Blue Sea goodies back there along with maybe the ARB compressor. Not sure I’m going to have enough room. In that event I would probably just do an amp under one of the seats and power the four door speakers. Still thinking.....

Speakers, everyone has an opinion. Usually buy the most expensive your budget allows and you should be good to go

I did these in my 93.

6.5”. But they won’t work with the stock grills. They also require a little trimming of the actual door and the panel. Plus they come with a crossover so that means the crossover has to be mounted in the doors or up under the dash. Sound quality is excellent but they are definitely not plug and play. Not a lot of choices because they got to be slim as most people know to fit in the doors.

It does have some slim and small Pioneers in it now.

Cheers

@SNLC has been hard at work today finishing up the Second Skin sound deadening. That stuff is looking good.

Lots of good stuff ordered as well. We ended up going with the Morel speakers. Going to try and see how to fit some 6.5’s in the rear doors. Hopefully that will work out okay. Also been busy the last few days ordering miscellaneous electrical parts. The next few weeks should see some good progress.

Finished the sound deadening yesterday, although we may come back over the floor in a few spots.

Already starting in on new body mounts all around, then in to wiring.
