1997 4Runner remote door locks (1 Viewer)

hi all,

How do I find out if my daughters 97 4Runner has the remote door lock feature.

It didn't come with any key fobs. But it has electric locks.

I can install a aftermarket system. But I'm hoping it has that feature and I only need a new key fob.

They should be a security light on the dash somewhere.

look under the seat or just behind the lower cover under the steering wheel. or behind the left kick panel . is there is one it will be a 4 or 5 inch square box with a bunch of connections coming out of it. but, they almost always installed the little red security light on the dash or center console.

Toyota factory units were VIP systems

I'm in the same boat and wanted to know if the '97 new to my daughter has the ability to add a VIP alarm system. Where does the flashing security light live on the dash?
