NOT MINE. just FYI here for interested parties. Hi all - I was interested in this (unlocked) 40th, but it's in CO and I'm in NC so a pretty large shipping cost. I have seen some pics not on the CL ad and it will need some TLC, but it's a 40th at a decent price (original paint, I think) and he says no accidents (other than a sideswipe with a tree, the fenders on the pass. side will need attention). 270k so will need some maintenance, but could be a deal if you've been on the hunt for a 40th Anniversary. Some rust underneath you will want to address, but I have seen worse (even on BAT). Will need tires pretty soon. You would probably want to pull a Carfax. Seller says it's been in his fam for 20 years - could be great to ether restore or mod for wheeling. He's asking $9000 but I bet he will negotiate. See ad below:

this is what a friend of mine found when test driving it and his independent thoughts "...seller is sincere, maintenance has been done poorly by non LC specialists, Runs and drives nice, rocker rust under rear doors and rear axle crusty, oil leaks, coolant looked foul, for a driver and wheeler - manageable with a whole lot of deferred maintenance. for a show truck - move along..."

Great input, WVU fan...thx. The seller does seem to be a nice guy and honest/ not trying to hide anything. Front seats need new leather and steering wheel needs to be redone. 2nd row seats and 3rd row look OK. There's rust on the rear bumper where the 4 holes for the pintle hitch are. Apparently it will need some power steering hoses as well. Engine is dirty but can of course be cleaned/ detailed. The HG has not been done, so a future buyer may want to budget for that as a preventative item (unless you are a Cruiserhead who has a "if it ain't broke, don't fix it" approach to the HG) ;)
I still think it could be a deal on a 40th for someone who could do a lot of work themselves (or has a big wallet). Def address the underside/ frame issues.
