This is a 1996 Toyota Land Cruiser FZJ80 with the 1FZE straight 6. I received this about a year ago in a trade for a tiny house. I fixed 3 of the electric motors for the windows, put in new a/c this summer, new tires and brakes as well. This was built for overlanding and camping. It has been driven gently and maintained well. Hasn’t seen extreme 4 wheeling.
It has a 2 1/2 inch old man emu lift on 35 inch M/T tires (not even 500 mi on them) and steel off-road wheels and a safari snorkel (no lockers). It’s a nice start to a pretty awesome overlanding build or full restore!
The chassis has almost 300K miles on it, but the engine had a FULL rebuild 3 years and about 40k miles ago (including head gasket and timing chain/tensioner). No Rust!! This truck should be good to go for at least another 100-200k miles! The phh (pesky heater hose) was replaced at this time also.
The paint (sequoia green I believe) shows it’s age as does any 23 year old Cruiser. There are a few scratches and small dings from off-roading and the clearcoat is fading in places (common in these) The interior and headliner is in good shape. The leather will need replaced on front seats. It also has a full size matching spare tire. No third row but it has the locks for it to be installed if you find one.
