I already did. Tastes like chicken. My 2cents in the mysterious grey substance is :
The powder of the clutch disk , mixed with a light film of oil still present on the bell.
Hint , try to taste the grey substance , and a bit of the clutch , might have the same taste
Decided to “quickly” swap over my drive flanges to the Aisin manual locking hubs.
Broke an M8x1.25 stud while running my impact the wrong direction (“Sh*t!!!”).
I was able to get it out with an EZ-Out, but slowed me down pretty good.
I decided to go ahead and replace all of the studs, cone washers, split washers, nuts, and gaskets while I’m at it. They were all pretty gnarly.
What is your favorite tool to remove M8x1.25 studs? I have always used the “double-nut” method with mixed results.
Hi all, I am new here. I recently joined because I was looking to learn more about GCC spec cruisers like the one pictured. Do you have any tips on importing 70 series trucks from Qatar/the GCC region? I will be in Qatar for a temporary posting and am looking to buy a 96 or older 70 series to daily while there then import back to the US. How hard is it to find a military truck, and do they command much of a premium? Does importing one from the GCC come out cheaper than buying an already imported 70 in the USA? From what I have seen in online listings, old GCC cruisers don't seem to depreciate as much as I'd expect, so were you able to get a deal? Any tips would be much appreciated! This is my new 1996 HZJ75 Land Cruiser Pickup.
Some of the specs are:
- GCC Market from Qatar (former military truck)
- Diesel
- 1HZ Engine
- 12-Volt Power System
- Dual Fuel Tanks
- 36,000 kms
- No rust
- Factory PTO Winch
- Hand Throttle
- H55F 5-Speed Transmission
- Toyota “Split” Transfer Case
- Toyota Full Float Rear Axle
Wish me luck as I drive it home from LA to Austin, TX! (More pics and details once I get it home)
And yes, @Gun Runner 5, I have posted the truck in the US 70 Series Registration thread.
