Here’s the start of my build thread, this is by far my favorite vehicle I’ve owned. I had an 08 FJ Cruiser that I sold for $14k, I wanted to put money aside for a home down payment so I had some left to spare. I purchased it about 2 months ago in Glendale. 255k miles, no lockers, one owner, all records. Had a rebuilt title due to a fender bender (you can see the drivers rear door bent up a bit in the picture). The cousin was selling for the owner because he passed away and the 80 sat on the side of the house for two years. Asking $5,000 but talked down to $3,000 because the brakes didn’t work as well as the speedometer/odometer (new brake Booster and speed sensor). After lugging it up to Prescott, and overheating on the way, it was time to start baselining. This is what I’ve done so far:
Brake booster
Speed sensor
Spark plugs/wires
Drivers door handle
Blue fan clutch w/ 20k oil
TYC radiator
Replaced Power steering low pressure lines
Replaced transmission cooler lines
EGR Delete
this thing runs like a top, and my 5 month old loves it (more than our 2020 RAV4
