This last summer I did the blue devil head gasket sealer and ran the fj without a tstat for the summer. The heater worked in both the front and the back just fine. Aside from the racket from the blend door. I plan on replacing that soon. But now that I replaced the tstat with an oem one I am getting no heat out of the front or the back. I replaced the mixer with another brand new oem piece about 2 weeks ago but I have zero heat.
When I did the blue devil head gasket sealer I flushed and back flushed the cores. They were not that bad and they worked amazingly as long as I wasn't on a long downhill.
Right now I have the cable disconnected from the mixer valve just to remove that variable but still very very little heat. If I leave both the front and rear on with recirc. It will eventually heat up to about 65 degrees. But it's freezing where I live. And I have a 1 year old. Should I buy another new tstat?
There is one more thing, I hadn't used my front heater for the summer and I did hook up an amp to the after market deck in the dash. But I am sure the rear heat worked after I did that. Not sure about the front as I had no reason to use it.
The heater worked amazingly last winter before the flush and blue devil.
Any help with the blend door clicking sound, thoughts on the zero heat, and or advice on the tstat would be much appreciated by me and my family.
Thanks in advance.
