So got around to extending my diff breathers into the engine bay firewall. It got me thinking about the transfer case and tranny.

I found this breather on the front right of the tranny. I followed the hose to the rear of the transfer case. It seems they may tie into each other on top of the transmission. Does the transfer case and transmission share the same breather ?

This is the end of the breather tube

This is where it looks to possibly join…. It’s in top of the tranny.

This is the beginning of the hose on the rear of the transfer case.

If I’m reading the pics right, It looks like they share the same breather… that the transfer case Ts into the tranny with 33019B. If I’m right, I could replace 33019 with a longer hose and move it into the engine bay and extend the breathing point for both of them ?

Hello,

Yes, you can use a longer hose.

While you are there, extend the rear axle breather line as well.

I actually finished it up today…. I have all 3 ( front diff, rear diff, and tranny/transfer case ) ran into the engine bay and attached to an ARB style breather kit. ( pic was before I ran the 3rd line)
