Hello,

I have a 1994 4.3L Vortec VIN W swapped into my 1980 Pickup. About a month ago I set the ignition timing after replacing the distributor assembly. The truck has been running fine, but now it won't start and I have a feeling it is because of the recent cold mornings. The truck will start in the afternoon or after sitting in the sun.

When I set the timing I warmed the engine up first. Then unplugged the brown CPU timing wire, started the engine, set timing to 0, shut engine off, connected the brown CPU timing wire and disconnected the battery for a few minutes to reset the CPU.

The engine cranks, has fuel and spark. I have tested it with my second battery engaged, so I don't think it is a dying battery.

Do I need to adjust the ignition timing a little bit or is there something else I am missing?

UPDATE EDIT: The no start issue was due to my fuel pump check valve going bad. It wasn't holding enough pressure to start sometimes. New fuel pump fixed the issue.
