I decided last Sunday to take the head to my head shop for assembly, so I did that on Monday. Re-using the old buckets and shims and I don’t have the equipment to tip the valves correctly. Hopefully have the head back tomorrow or Friday, either way I will start on all the work needed this weekend.

Cheers

Three things I find sexy in this world; a woman’s body, a really nice Land Cruiser and OEM parts! 🤣

I like the 105 spindles for the bushing roller bearing combo. It is Toyota’s last revision of this part after all before production ceased. Also at $150/each it is nearly worth it to me to get rid of the groove from the oil seal on an old spindle. Not to mention, these are true and not bent, ever chased a death wobble to no end only to figure out the spindle was bent? 😉

Cheers

Sexy new head 😍

Valves all set up and installed, my head guy did have to tip the valves to use all the old buckets and shims.

I am using the ARP Opel head studs. Front two trimmed down.

I did 4-sequences vs the FSMs three. 18, 35, 60 and 80ftlbs.

On with the cams. ;)

New tensioner as well but I don’t like the raw cast so will paint the exposed part tomorrow before install.

Only worked on the engine a few hours today.

Cleaned a bunch of hardware, painted and mounted the tensioner and few other small things. I have got a bunch of sensors and some hardware showing up tomorrow. I need to also clean to top manifold half. After that I can continue with assembly.

Negative. That is the correct part number.

Remember: dual belts on 1FZ.

Thanks, that tells me I am tired after a 13hr day, clocking out!

Cheers

and the inside of the belts rides on the pulley.
