I migh buy a 93 camry wagon that has a rod knocking because it had an oil leak and the college girl that was driving it ran it out. Anyway, it has about 200k miles and is actually in pretty good shape overall. It is an automatic with the v6. Is it worth getting a used engine and rebuild it, or just get a used engine and run it? I may only end up paying 300-400 for the car. How hard would it be to rebuild this engine? is it the same 3.0 that is used in the pickups and 4runners?

Not the same as the truck V6, my Dad has one and he put a 30,000 mile japanese motor in it, works great now, and I think it was comparable costwise to a shop rebuild. If you rebuild it yourself, you'll probly come out ahead...
