Hello,

Have done search on this...so I will just launch..I have a 1992 fj80 with a turbo'd, intercooled 3B, w/5 speed...has a 2 inch OME lift...I want to have plain non-spoke steel wheels and right now the truck has 16 inch aluminums with my winter tires (michelins). I have a set of 255/85/16 cooper discoverers kicking around so I thought I would put them on steel spares from 1994 model. (are they non spoke) I like the style of the spare but 16 inch did not come out until 1993,94?. One place says they will fit perfectly. I am in Canada so it looks like I have to bring them in from somewhere. Does anyone know if this wheel (the spare wheel from an 93-94? will fit. Is that wheel 6.5 inches wide? My truck (actually my wifes truck)...heh heh...has flares.

Thanks in advance for any wisdom.

1.- AFAIK, if it came with alloys, all five were alloy. I'm not sure how you define spokes, but the steelies do have cut-outs.
2.- 91-92=15", 93-97=16"; 93-94 alloys=conical nuts, 95-97 alloys=flanged nuts
3.- The FZJ80 alloys will fit FJ80s, so I assume that steelies would fit, if you can find them. A tiny percentage of FZJ80s arrived in the USA with steel rims.
4.- No, it is 16x8.

more rimming...

Thanks for the info pilot...

The local Canadian Tire has some steel 16 X 7 JJ rims that has many Toyota SUV's and Nissan as using that wheel. The FJ was never imported until the recent version...so maybe that is why it does not appear on the list.
I bought one and it appears to suck the wheel in closer to the center of the truck; it is hard to get a measurement from the wheels that are now on it to compare offset. It slides on and seems it would work with the 255/85/16 Coopers...it is a'Multi-fit' wheel so the stud holes are sloppy...with conical tapers...the center pilot hole seems fairly close.

need expert opinion....

Measurements:

Alloys that are on 1992 FJ80: 16 inch with 4.25 inch backspace

Steel wheels I want to put on: 16 inch with 4.75 inch backspace

Does this make track too narrow or should I order spacers?

Thanks for any help.

OT 3B diesel pics...

I did not do the original conversion...I will call that person the Romanian butcher...say it is a work in progress...many things changed/ repaired...new power steer pump, repair motor mounts, new brake booster, rebuild vacuum pump, change intercooler to one from a 7.3 binder (now not strapped onto bumper), rebuild turbo, OME 2" and many other things...
