Al,
pull the wiring out of the ecm (p/s kick panel) check for corrosion. Throw down some dialictric grease and re connect, thats my guess for the morning, though the gauges not coming up point to a bad ignition switch.

Thanks I will give it a try this morning....The better half had to take Velveeta Wag to work...

I just remembered that this happened to me about 6 months ago, thought it was a spoof. Same conditions, turn the key and the engine would not kick out. No lights except for the red door ajar.

I inserted the key and turned the ignition to start several times. Over and over until it started. It finally worked. no problem since.

Can you see if the ignition is bad by bypassing the switch?

If your truck is still cranking, give it a shot of starter fluid. If it starts, even for a few seconds, then it is probably not the ignition system and you would need to look at the fuel system.

If it does not start then I would start with troubleshooting the ignition system.

There is a hose that runs from the manifold to the intake assembly right before the throttle body. I usually unhook this hose at the intake assembly give it a good shot of starter fluid then push the hose back on. Be careful not to get any fluid on the distributor.

Good Luck

Got it running....It was the 50amp fuse. It was almost impossible to see that it was toast. Can't believe that was it. And am still scratching my head as to why it blew?

you obviosuly have not been venting your frustration. you should try sometime. you just might find you get what you need ;)

OK, I jumped the starter to the battery and go the truck started. But when I got it started after jumping it, there was no read out from the gauges. Nothing.

My guess, this is when the 50amp fuse blew. I bet you fixed the initial problem fiddling with it w/out knowing it.

It all works out in the end!

I got no clue brotha...Maybe your right.
