Howzit cruisers! I am having the power steering gear assembly, pump and high pressure line on my 1991 FJ 80 replaced. My mechanic mentioned that their is supposed to be a switch on the pump that looks to have been removed. Mechanic says this switch increases the idle when turning. I cannot seem to find any information about the switch he is referring to. Can anyone please advise as to whether or not there is supposed to be a switch on my rig's power steering pump or not and if so, where can I find one? Cannot seem to find online.

Thank you in advance!

Find another mechanic.

1986 technology. 1st generation fuel injection mounted on a tractor motor.
How some of these mechanics find a job is beyond me.

I'd love to hear more from this mechanic. Can you ask for an inspection before firing him?
