Wished I could get my FZJ80 fixed up and sold so I could move into this, oh well...
Cheaper than a new car. Way cooler and worth the investment. Check it out

I’m pretty sure I’ve seen this rig at Peter Merriams shop. I can do a PPI if anyone is interested.

Might be interested in getting your two cents. I have been talking with Zach about it via text. He said he had one person coming by to look at it today. If this vehicle ends up being something worthwhile then I might also get the the folks at ACC to take a look at it so I know how much more I’ll have to put into it to keep it in good running order.

Was told by Zach, that the one you are seeing @athensrep is a pop top at Peter’s shop. The owner is doing some work on it, but it is not the one for sale.

Huh. I thought I had the only pop top 75 around here.
I’ve had mine over there a couple of times - wonder if he means mine.

I’d be glad to swing by. Just let me know.

That’s a reasonable price if the truck checks out. The fuel leak issue should be addressed though.
Agreed, that and any other potential issues would cause me to knock the price down a few though...

Injector pump is a $1500 job. The low sulphur diesel over here is hell on the seals and causes them to leak. If the seller took of this and that rust I might be player for this price.

Would a new injector pump take care of the incompatiblility with our low sulphur diesel fuel or would it just start leaking again? I ask because I'm thinking about a 13b-t purchase and was concerned about the new diesel fuels and old parts. Thanks!

This thread has some good discussion. Nothing conclusive though. I will say that in two years I haven't any issue with the 2C-T in my TownAce Van, but operating temperatures may be different in such a small displacement engine.

Ultra Low Sulfer Diesel - Problem in 1HZ??

I looked at and test drove this Troopy a couple weeks back. I just got a message from the seller, Zach, that he has dropped the price to $22K.

Reduced! 1991 Land Cruiser 70 series Troopy 1HZ Diesel

If anyone has any questions, let me know.

I got a quote for resealing the injector pump for around $600 and rebuilding for around $1200 depending on what's needed. In driving it, the pump didn't leak more while driving. It's still just a drip. It drove on the highway with authority and is very clean, especially the undercarriage, no rust at all on the frame and drivetrain. There is evidence of rust around the rain gutters that has been dealt with and some paintwork in that area. I saw no rust hole or obvious signs of bondo work. The windshield frame looked and sounded solid, but I didn't test it with a magnet. It actually looks better in person than in the pics.

I took a look at the vehicle back when it was at a higher price. The concern that I had was issues around the windscreen and the possibility that there had been some bondo issues. Rust in all the other usual places, but I still think it’s priced to high. If someone could investigate more on the windscreen, that would be awesome.

I checked it out. The biggest concern would be the gutters. They did look to have a good bit of bondo work done. Interior and undercarriage are clean. Windscreen has some bubbles but I would be more concerned with the top.

Just cut it off and put a Trakka or Alu-cab top. Fixed.

My apologies @athensrep is correct on the bondo and the windscreen.

Good point on the pop top. This is probably a good candidate given the price.
