I would need some investment capital to do that.

I took $35k down there. I was $15k short.

Until you get $50k to fund x2 Cruisers into a container and then wait six months or more to get your money back....well good luck!

Add $10k to the cost of each vehicle, $5k for shipping, $5k in repairs. All the sudden that $10k Cruiser you thought you could flip for $20+k isn’t providing to profitable anymore.

Good luck buddy.

Cheers

Yep, That is what is needed to get a Business going. Getting someone to buy A 20to30K Rig sight unseen is a very hard sell 🤷‍♂️

I sold my 100 for $35k while it and I was in Panama.

It is doable, however, I had big build threads on the truck. I did the work myself and had all receipts and hundreds of pics of that work being performed. I also drove the Cruiser to the USA and delivered it to the buyer. I took only a $500 deposit until I delivered the Cruiser.

Cheers

If it were $500 down and the balance on delivery with full documentation, I imagine these would sale much better. 7k plus posts and 16 years on the board would go a long way with me as well.

How difficult is it to get parts for this engine in the states for service and repair? Was the same engine sold in another model in the states?
How is the rust on vehicles from Central or South America?

Parts are readily available from toyota dealer and land cruiser specialty stores such as cruiserparts.net

The exact same model was not sold, though the yanmar 6lp marine engine is a marinized version of 1hd engine and was sold in usa.

Rust depends on the care given to each vehicle, in general terms vehicles are mostly rust free.

This scheme is still too risky for buyers.

Put yourself in the buyer's shoes: If you're paying thousands for a Land Cruiser sight unseen, you'll need assurance not just of its delivery, but also reasonable assurance of its advertised quality and its function.

If I were you, I would think about ways you can provide buyers that assurance.

If the buyer would like an assurance of the quality and function of the vehicle, the buyer could send the the funds necessary so the vehicle can be taken for a full diagnostic checkup at one of the two local nicaraguan toyota authorized dealer service centers. I would then send the toyota authorized dealer service center full diagnostic checkup to the potential buyer so he can have assurance of the quality and function of the vehicle.
