I thought i would start a tread to document this soft restoration of the 1990 getting if prepared for sale at some point. I ended up with this from Deo and it is a very clean truck and was just right for a soft restoration. The interior is prob one of the cleanest i have see, everything under neath is supper clean. It was a one owner with all the records. So far the list of things completed
1. Front axel rebuild with new bearings/rotors/bearings
2. oil pan gasket and rear main seal
3. ome suspension
4. new thermostat and housing
5. new plug wires and valve adjustment
6. repair a rust spot above the driver cargo window, it had a bag phone antena at this location
7. new radiator/ trans line replacement
8. ordered new trim for the exterior
9. new front bumper

It is running great, nice and tight.

Another build? Dang !!

Not another build just making it nice for the next owner. Just want to get it down the road and sell it with a little pride.

62 is getting mechanically wrapped up, up next is this beautiful 40. The plan is to get it mechanically perfect and leave the body alone. It is rock solid

I need some paint help, the code on the truck 155 but when it is mixed it has two much blue in it, there is another paint code that year that is 153. I know this truck has never been painted. Has anyone else run into this, it seems the gray that is on the truck has green tone to it.

Hi, What paint are you using ? I have run into this before , try a different manufacture . Mike

Few more items checked off the list. New coolant/heater hoses and clamps from toyota. New drive shaft, fuel filter, evap canister and fuel separator. Still lack a few items but list is getting smaller

Wow, that's a clean truck. Is this the one that needed the nose popped back out? I have the headlights and maybe surrounds if you need them.

Curious, what was the failure mode of the separator and canister?

x2. Metal piece exposed to elements that vent hoses attach to seems like a more likely failure item than the plastic separator tucked inside.

yes this is the truck that was bent in the front, Deo provided a new rad support and lower trim piece good as new. i need the pig tail and light socket for the parking light on the ds side. i ended up getting new surrounds from toyota.
