Just finished fixing timing cover plate leak, de-smog, PS line replacement and took off A/C stuff. Started the truck, ran great (ta-da!!) and shut it off after a few minutes. No drips-or so I thought. Smelled fuel and heard dripping and investigation found fuel coming out of the fuel pressure damper at the rear of the fuel rail. I took the cap off and fuel was coming out of the screw hole (screw was a bit loose).
Digging around in Mud tells me there is a diaphragm in there that most likely has failed. Need to replace it. Which brings me to my question:
How the heck do you get it out of there? I really really really don’t want to take off intake stuff but getting a wrench in there seems daunting. I suppose I could cut an end wrench to fit or purchase a crows foot wrench. Do folks know what size it is? Does the damper have a banjo bolt that goes in where the fuel line comes in?
Thoughts?
And is this part still available OEM?
Thx!!!
