1988 Toyota Land Cruiser FJ62 with 222,688 miles and a clean title. This car has been babied, and it shows. All work done at Glendora Valley Import Specialists (A recommended shop on this forum). I have receipts.
I bought this from an ih8mud member in February for $15,500 and have put $4,500 (I have receipts) into it since then to make sure it can withstand long distance road trips (I never off-roaded). I'd like to sell it to someone here before I try Craigslist/Autotrader. I'm selling because I just took a job in Ontario, California (I live in Los Angeles) and I don't want to put 80 miles/day on this car doing that commute.
Everything, both inside and out, is in great condition. The vehicle starts right up without any problems, shifts smoothly between gears, and handles perfectly. AC is cold (which wasn't the case when I bought it but I put ~2.5K into making it work), heat is hot. Lots of extras -- ARB bull bar, Warn winch, KC headlights, Kargo Kraft roof rack. Repainted in its original color about 18-24 months ago (I did not repaint it, the previous owner did). Old man emu suspension, 4 new pro comp wheels and new BFG KO2 A/T 315x70x17 tires. New break pads, AC system, California smog compliant through 2018. Custom stereo deck, but also comes with the original cassette deck.
In the last 6 months all fluids have been drained and flushed, oil changed, smogged (passed on the 2nd try in California, good through 2018), break pads, rotors, and shoes have been replaced, and I had the entire AC system replaced so it can stand the hot CA summers. Custom front + rear speakers along with an in-deck CD player.
The interior is in immaculate condition. No rips in any of the seats, and everything is functional and clean. Nonsmoker and garaged.
The only two flaws in this vehicle:
First, the passenger window does not reliably roll down -- the "window lock" is engaged and has to be fiddled with to get the passenger window down. If you stick a pencil/pen where the "window lock" button should be, and then try to roll down the passenger window, it works, so it was never a big problem in my opinion.
Second, the rear hatch cannot be unlocked from the outside (thought it can be opened from the outside). You have to go inside the back of the truck and manually unlock it. This is a new problem, I used to be able to unlock it from the outside so I'm guessing there's some grease/gunk buildup? Either way, it wasn't an inconvenience for me so I didn't bother trying to fix it.
