1987 FJ70 Colombian Import with Blown rear Diff, need advice

Hi everyone, new to the thread and wondering if i can get some help. I own a 1987 FJ70 that has a blown Rear Diff and I'd like to rebuild both the front and rear. What size ring and pinion should i be headed for with the 35" tires that came with it?

Blown in what way? Seals? R&P? Bearings?

I'm guessing at least bearings from those enormous wheel spacers.

Ummmmmm.... what rear diff is in it??? This might not be as easy as you might think.

Typically those had Dana 60 rear axles, and the parts are not the same as US Dana.

Dana was able to help me with part numbers to repair mine -- parts acquired through ebay as NLA...

Columbian 1994 FZJ73 Dana 60 Rear Brake Drum Solution

Hello! My rear drums are toast (surprise surprise) and the drums P/N Partsouq is showing for Columbian trucks with a Dana 60 rear axle is 4243160050. It’s available via Amayama and Megazip but I’m weighing options. To anyone's knowledge, are there any substitutions for this part? Thanks! Edit...

Hello,

The gear ratio is 4.11:1.

As mentioned above, the axle is a Dana 60 with Toyota parts.

Colombia spec 70 Series usually have blown brake drums, bearings, seals and brake cylinders.

Get ready for some serious parts hunt.

Or get a Toyota axle and ditch the Dana.
