1986 HJ60 with 5spd H55 transmission, 272,000km (170K miles)
Grey with Blue/Grey Interior
Just had engine checked out and tuned up. It runs awesome. The mechanics said that it runs great and is a beast. Transmission shifts great. Just had front brakes redone. A/C works great. Interior is in great condition; Dash is not cracked; Seats are not ripped except for small tear on side of drivers seat, but has not encroached onto the fabric from the vinyl. Headliner in great condition. Body really does not have any rust. My plan was to repaint, put in 3 point seat belts and headrests from a 62 and drive it for the next 10 years. I do have a set of matching 3 point seat belts for the rear along with the blue interior trim piece from a 62 and a back seat frame from a 62.
Backstory
I purchased this sight unseen from someone (not on MUD) in Florida who had imported it from Canada (I know please spare me the comments). I asked about the usual rust and had him send me pictures of the wheel wells. Everything looked great. However, the PO neglected to tell me about 2 spots on the frame that are completely rusted through. On the interior of the frame just behind the front axle on both the left interior and the right interior are 2 really bad spots on the frame. The odd thing is that the body really doesn't have any rust on it. I don't know if anyone could do anything with the frame. I took it to one welder and he was hesitant to do anything. I talked to a Land Cruiser shop here in town and they said it would be between $7,500 and $10,000 to do a frame swap, most of that in labor cost. It needs new shocks and I would just go ahead and do the suspension at that time. I have toyed with the idea of just going all in on this thing but I just have too many things going on in my life right now so I thought I would post it here and see if anyone else has been stalking a 5 speed diesel with an awesome body. It really is a great truck and runs and drives incredibly well and would be a killer cruiser if someone had access to a shop and a 60 series frame. I actually drive it to work everyday. It is located in Memphis, TN. Asking $10,000 and I am already taking a bath at that.

Very nice. Someone will scoop this up.

Hey I think My buddy wants this. He's texting me right now... How can he call you?

I just PM'd you. He is ready to buy and if need-be I can drive him to Memphis and hang with Cruiser friends/folk in Memphis myself!

I've been lurking on this forum for a while now just waiting on the right rig, this could be it. Let me know if that sale doesn't go through.

GLWS.
I had a 5-speed diesel 60-series with the H2 engine and almost 750,000 miles on it when I sold it. Yes, 750,000 miles as a mining equipment escort vehicle for 25 years. They are indeed bulletproof.

Time for this guy to go to a new home. Just installed a new slave cylinder in the clutch. Glow plugs are acting finicky, not sure what the issue is. Engine runs great, drive it to work everyday just don't need this vehicle and don't have the time to put towards restoring it. New price $6,500.
Thanks.

That's a really good looking Cruiser. I'm absolutely amazed the body is rust free with the frame in the shape it is. You mentioned you planned to have it painted. Is this the original paint on the truck? If not are you confident there's no rust repair or Bondo under the paint? I can see the original body seems along the bottom and they look good. Just seems so unusual. Thank you, Jim

All,
I have been on the road all day today and just got back to the house. I have a lot of responses and PM's so I will try to answer them in the the order received.
Thanks.

As of right now the cruiser is tentatively sold. Potential buyer has sent earnest money and scheduled to see it on Friday afternoon.
Will update status of cruiser on Friday night.
