To use the later big boy indicator/turn signal lights, the grille has to change as well.
I like pushing the boundaries of what I can procure through TMS, USA. I figured “nah.... they ain’t gonna buy it...”
Boom! Shows up 3 days later. And stupid cheap at my pricing from Toyota.
It really modernizes the front of the old 70’s.

Starting to put it all together for FST install.
Doors are at paint. Should have them back Saturday.
Windshield frame has been painted and getting installed with new glass and weatherstrip on Thursday.

Damn that grill looks rippa! Best mod anyone can do to an early 70 series.
That does look smart! A bit of me is sad to see the sombrero replacing the "TOYOTA" though...
Did you have to trim/cut the grill to accommodate the intercooler?

Direct fit. No trimming needed.
No doubt!! Looks great!
It probably cost less than the left side battery shelf for my 70. $343 Canadian for that plastic shelf.

I’m impressed. And the fact the grille angles outwards makes the IC cooler fit even better. No interference at all.

Stated above. Yes, significantly more room because the radius of the front of the grille curves outward leaving a lot of room behind it.
