The grommet for the inlet into the heater core arrived from Japan as well. Important part.

@Mr Cimarron You asked about whether the longer filter would work and not interfere with the fender skirt... it’s a solid fit, Cim. Good 2” to spare underneath the filter and the fender skirt.

HTH.

RH side of the truck is almost completed. LH side tomorrow. Then plumb the intercooler and do the electrical for the pump, and that’s pretty much it.

I already filled the crank case, clutch, brake systems. Need to do coolant and PS fluid and bleed all systems....

Then 5 gallons of fuel into tank and... well, start her up.

Has the water to air inter cooler always been in play?

No, Cim. Adding it now. It’s been sitting in a box since when I live in ATL...
I’m stuck with that option as well I think. No way to put a front mount with huge pipes.

Will be really interested in seeing how you make the intercooler work and what it does for your EGT's. The past 2 days I did some 65-70mph driving in the heat (90+degrees) and running the AC with some mild rolling hills. My factory Temp guage goes 2/3 of the way from Low to High at 60mph it's 1-3 of the way. EGT's can spike over 700C if I try to hold 110K(really 120K) over hills.....I know I'm pushing the limits of the 3B. Not sure I like my water cooled turbo as it only dumps more heat back into the cooling system.

What would you plug into a 24v lighter socket that wouldn't fry itself? Is there a way to run the lighter plug off the new 12V circuit you're installing for accesories?

The lighter element itself is a 24V version and my chargers are 12/24v. I don’t want to hack into the factory wiring.

And I’ve changed my mind and won’t be installing a 24-12v reducer.

IC pump was procured in 24v option, fog light bulbs changed to 24v, and Harrop lockers can operate on 24v.

Keeping s*** simple.

IC plumbed... And electrical done. But for start-up, I am leaving it out of the loop.

The water pump is as low as I can get it on the LH fender skirt behind the headlight assembly.

Fill position up high parallel with the factory thermostat housing cap.

Put 24v to the pump and we are good. It’s quiet. Very. I am going to switch it to ignition hot wire so it only runs when truck is running...

Put 5 gallons of diesel in and started it up... keeps cranking but won’t catch for some reason. Glow system work perfectly, glow plug relay clicks and indicates plugs are ready to start.

But man... engine just will not catch. Wants to. Primed the pump at the filter housing. Need to bleed air I’m thinking.

I’m beat. Need to sleep on it and check fuel delivery tomorrow AM.

Gotta be something stupid simple. It always is with these stupid simple engines. I’m hoping to end this thread pretty soon here.

:)

It's going to be interesting to see if your hood closes with that intercooler where it is. I have a 3BII, maybe the valve cover is taller. I don't think I have that much room between my valve cover and the hood.

I've found especially if the fuel system has been totally dry, you might need to crack the injectors to get them bled properly. Also found that having someone pumping the primer whilst cranking seems to help
